So I have decided to build my first cluster. My goal for the cluster is to have two Ubuntu Server based nodes (one on the laptop and one on the server) both running under VmWare. The laptop now has Ubuntu installed and I plan to install Xen next week (for my presentation to SFVLUG).
I am also interested in building highly available Asterisk systems. To this end I have installed Trixbox on my laptop (again under VmWare) and am messing around with it. I want to get more comfortable with it, and then I plan to install it on my two cluster nodes and mess around with Single System Image and Linux Virtual Server / Linux HA.
So starting small with the Xen stuff (one node configured/testd/demoed at SFVLUG) and then moving on from there to building out the WEP/WPA cracker. At the same time I can get more comfortable with Asterisk via Trixbox.
So expect me to write a lot about Xen/Clustering/Vmware/Ubuntu server over the next few weeks. Taking a break from the Exchange project for a while and picking up some marketable skills that seem to be fairly hot right now (Virtualization/Clustering/VoIP).
